Lindungi Hutan X Watson and Bendega.id have collaborated to execute a plantation project to support the conservation of mangrove forests. The project involved planting 1000 Rhizophora mucronata trees in Mangrove Sesetan located in Indonesia. The project was carried out on Thursday, June 28, 2022, and required a team of 8 individuals to complete the plantation work.

Rhizophora mucronata is a vital mangrove species that is important for coastal protection, carbon sequestration, and as a breeding ground for fish and other marine species. The project aimed to increase the density of the mangrove forest and restore the habitat that had been damaged by human activities. The selected plantation site, Mangrove Sesetan, was chosen due to its strategic location as an essential carbon sink and its vulnerability to damage from anthropogenic activities.

The plantation project was executed by a team of 8 individuals with prior experience in mangrove restoration. The team started the project by conducting a site assessment and identifying the most suitable planting spots for the mangrove trees. The team then began the plantation work by digging holes for each tree, adding organic matter to the soil, and placing the trees carefully in the holes. The team also installed bamboo stakes to provide additional support for the newly planted trees.
