The plantation project was a collaboration between PLN Bali and Bendega.id. The project was aimed at promoting environmental conservation and raising awareness of the importance of mangrove trees. The project involved planting 1000 mangrove trees of two different types - Cemara laut and Ketapang Laut - on Biaung Beach in Kesiman Kertalangu.
The plantation project took place on Friday, June 24, 2022, and involved the participation of 10 manpower. The project location was carefully selected as Biaung Beach in Kesiman Kertalangu, which is a coastal area that has been experiencing significant erosion. The planting of mangrove trees in the area is expected to reduce the impact of erosion and promote the growth of the coastal ecosystem.
The project team began by preparing the planting area and ensuring the soil was adequately moist. They then proceeded to plant the 1000 mangrove trees, carefully spacing them out to ensure optimal growth conditions. The team also took measures to protect the newly planted trees from potential threats such as animal grazing and human activity.
The plantation project was a success, and the team was able to achieve their objective of planting 1000 mangrove trees on Biaung Beach. The project was crucial in promoting environmental conservation and awareness of the importance of mangrove trees. PLN Bali and Bendega.id plan to continue collaborating on similar projects to promote sustainable practices and conservation efforts in Bali. The newly planted mangrove trees are expected to provide numerous benefits, such as reducing coastal erosion, providing habitats for various marine species, and enhancing the beauty of the coastal area.
