The KUB Wana Sari Kertih and Gojek collaboration with Bendega.id successfully completed a mangrove project on Monday, November 29, 2021, in Kelurahan Kedonganan. The project involved planting 2000 Rhizophora Mucronata mangrove trees with the help of 30 local fishermen. This project aimed to promote the conservation of the marine ecosystem and support the livelihood of the fishermen community.
The chosen location of the project, Kelurahan Kedonganan, was selected for its strategic location in the Badung Strait, where the mangrove trees can help prevent coastal erosion and filter out pollutants from the surrounding waters. Rhizophora Mucronata mangrove trees were specifically chosen for their salt tolerance and resilience in harsh coastal environments.
The manpower for the project was provided by a local fishermen group consisting of 30 individuals. The fishermen were trained in mangrove planting techniques and provided with the necessary tools to carry out the project successfully. The involvement of the local community in the project not only provided employment opportunities but also ensured the long-term sustainability of the project through community ownership and responsibility.
Overall, the successful collaboration between KUB Wana Sari Kertih and Gojek with Bendega.id resulted in the planting of 2000 Rhizophora Mucronata mangrove trees in Kelurahan Kedonganan. The project not only aimed to conserve the marine ecosystem but also supported the livelihoods of the local fishermen community.
